South Wales & South West Roofing Training Group

About
South Wales & South West Roofing Training Group
South West Roofing Training Group is a CITB-funded, not-for-profit specialist roofing training organisation serving roofing contractors across the South West of England. It delivers a Government-funded Level 2 Roof Slating and Tiling Apprenticeship, designed for individuals aged 16 and over who are employed on a PAYE basis with a roofing company. The apprenticeship runs over 16 months with three training days per month at dedicated roofing training centres in Exeter and Melksham, offering an alternative to a traditional college environment and maintaining small cohorts to focus on high-quality, hands-on learning. Apprentices develop the skills to install a wide range of roofing materials and systems, including tiles, slates, flashings, insulation, ventilation products and roof windows, and complete an independent End Point Assessment leading to eligibility for a Blue Skilled Worker CSCS card. In addition to apprenticeships, the Group organises free and subsidised training for the roofing industry, including asbestos awareness, City & Guilds accredited lead welding and bossing, estimating, NOCN Site Right safe use of cut-off saw courses, NVQ qualifications and CSCS card support. The organisation also helps employers access government apprenticeship funding and CITB grants and travel support.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
