About
University Centre Quayside (UCQ)
University Centre Quayside (UCQ) is a specialist work-based learning provider established in 1994, offering apprenticeships and other vocational programmes designed to develop employees’ skills and support organisational performance. UCQ delivers apprenticeships from Level 2 to Level 7, including higher and degree apprenticeships such as the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship, with provision focused on contextualised work-based learning so learners can apply new knowledge, skills and behaviours directly in their roles. Apprenticeships are offered across sectors including business services, care, management, production and manufacturing, retail, and warehousing/logistics. Alongside apprenticeships, UCQ provides work-based learning programmes to upskill and retrain existing staff, distance learning courses (typically leading to Level 2 qualifications) for those unable to access classroom delivery, and Essential Work Skills courses for both employed and unemployed people. Programmes are delivered nationally, with centres in Newcastle, Teesside, Leeds, London, Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham, using blended and online formats such as live MS Teams sessions, tutorials, professional observations and self-directed study, often supplemented by non-funded, value-added opportunities for additional qualifications. UCQ works closely with employers, referral organisations and partner bodies to align training with workforce development needs and organisational goals.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
