About
Oxford Energy Academy
Oxford Energy Academy, part of OEA’s network of Energy Academies, provides apprenticeship training and technical courses in gas, electrical, plumbing, oil and renewable energy skills. From its fully equipped training centre in Witney, the academy delivers Level 3 apprenticeship programmes in Plumbing and Domestic Heating (with gas or renewables pathways, including heat pumps and solar hot water) and in Electrotechnical Installation, typically over 3.5–4 years. Apprentices attend on day release throughout the year, benefitting from expert tuition by tutors with in‑the‑trade experience, and from a learning environment designed to support close collaboration between learners, employers and instructors. OEA offers a free employer–apprentice matching service, advertising vacancies and helping local employers recruit suitable candidates, with flexible funding options depending on apprentice age. Alongside apprenticeships, Oxford Energy Academy offers a wider portfolio of accredited energy-sector training and assessment, including domestic and commercial gas, LPG, electrical, plumbing and renewable energy courses, delivered at its Oxford Energy Academy site. The academy emphasises well‑planned, motivational teaching, individual learner support and personal development, and was part of an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ provision in 2022, supporting both new entrants to the trades and experienced engineers seeking to upskill or renew qualifications.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
