About
Coventry City Council
Coventry City Council is a local authority that also acts as an apprenticeship employer and training organisation, using apprenticeships to develop its current and future workforce across a wide range of service areas. Through its Apprenticeships and Early Careers team, the council supports more than 300 apprentices on over 60 apprenticeship standards from Level 2 to Level 7, including roles within adult and children’s services, education, housing, digital services, finance, property, public health, regeneration and schools. Apprentices are employed on fixed-term contracts, work full time and receive at least six hours per week of paid, off‑the‑job learning delivered via colleges, external training providers, on‑the‑job training or virtual learning. The council uses its Apprenticeship Levy to create new entry‑level opportunities and to upskill existing employees, with a focus on widening participation and engaging under‑represented groups. Apprentices benefit from a dedicated Apprenticeship Officer for pastoral support, additional learning and development, career guidance and employability support, alongside access to employee networks such as the Young Employees Network ‘Generation CCC’. The council’s Adult Education Service also offers work‑skills and apprenticeship‑related learning for adults across the city, supporting progression and employment.
Apprenticeships Offered:
Apprenticeship standards detail what an apprentice will be doing in their day-to-day job role.
Each standard lists the skills required of apprentices, and every standard is written by a group of employers called trailblazers-experts within their industry that have worked with countless apprentices.
Listed here are the apprenticeship standards this training provider offers training for.
