BMet (Birmingham Metropolitan College) is a large further education college offering a wide range of apprenticeship and skills training options for both new recruits and existing staff. The college works with colleges across Birmingham and specialist sites throughout the UK to deliver apprenticeship training on a regional and national basis, co-designing each programme with employers so that it meets specific business needs. Apprenticeships can start at any time of year, typically last between one and five years depending on level and sector, and combine workplace learning with college-based teaching. BMet delivers apprenticeships across more than 30 sectors, including disciplines such as engineering and manufacturing, construction, business and professional services, HR, rail, gas engineering, digital and creative roles, sport and coaching, and many others. Programmes span Level 2 through to higher-level qualifications, with progression routes into employment, higher apprenticeships and degree-level study. In addition to apprenticeships, BMet works with employers to design sector-based training, bespoke training for organisations, and provides work experience and innovation support for small businesses and charities, helping employers build a skilled workforce aligned to local and national economic needs.
